Titanium will be separated from PLD

Just short info for all PLD Titanium users. Probably by end of April Titanium will be separated from PLD. Distribution itself will remain almost untouched, but all resources will be moved to new domain. I don’t want to go into details why I made such decission. If you’d like to discuss that please mail me directly or use pld-titanium mailing list where longer explanation and few details (in polish) were sent today.

PLD Titanium changes

Today I’ve started applying quite big changes to PLD Titanium. It will now be separated into two distinct versions:

Titanium Stable. As name suggests this version is dedicated for systems where stability is more important than having most up to date versions of software packages. Once released only bug/security fixes and minor updates will be maintained. It will be based on snapshots created from…

Titanium Devel. Thats where real development will take place. After creating each stable snapshot goals will be chosen for next one – new versions of software or other required changes which may affect system stability during development. When all goals will be reached new stable snapshot will be created.

More detailed informations will be available soon at PLD Titanium web page.

Obsolete packages

Following packages has been obsoleted in PLD Titanium and will be soon moved to obsolete tree on FTP:

  • galeon
  • kazehakase
  • libmovtar
  • psi-daisy
  • xorg-driver-input-citron
  • xorg-driver-input-elographics
  • xorg-driver-input-fpit
  • xorg-driver-input-hyperpen
  • xorg-driver-input-mutouch
  • xorg-driver-input-penmount
  • xorg-driver-video-ast

All of them are either no longer developed, weren’t updated for long time, were dropped by upstream etc.
